Boy Yelling Today

I step on the park
in the street
in the square
and all at once
I was given candescent ears
a boy made a yell
fell then a scrape
to the left a women
bellows from her toungue
letting her insides out
and thats all some will see
but not me
not today
even across the street
the farmers market
a mother
her baby
stop and admire each other
giving pause to my glare
I look up
see the sun's eleventh act
shinning as couples laugh
this worlds one great huge discovery
curiosity's pandora
beautiful frowns cant deflect an uprise
everywhere there is life
when I breath
now
that I breath
there are no gasps
and atop a staircase
a boy yells
"NEVER SUCK CURIOUSITY OUT OF TODAY
MONOTONY HAS CEASELESS WONDER"

there is a world beyond your world
its hiding behind a full moon
peeping

Jolly
stroking its whiskers in winter
its right dab near that big oak tree
push what you know aside
grab this and seek it out
its a world beyond what you know
its bigger brighter and sexier than the last ad
etched in that moon
"come here"

Straight Edge Love Note

you gotta be there to be my girl
a quick runner to be my girl
spin kicks are a plus
to be
my
girl
im looking for a caring ear
to be my girl
If I could design she'd combine vegan with xxx
she'd straighten my frown out with two steps and a kiss
this thought
would be my girl
she'd care and listen and call
buds we'd be the best of the pack
she'll be tough and lean
tender hearted and eating canned beans
direct from my dream
we'll be wierd and savvy and stable
rolling through insecurities
looking forward
posi pointing out any pain
you see together we'd love the trees
with the blessing of a truce we made
Pirates we would be
I stealing her heart
she stealing mine
and this thing would be the authors envy
time standing still
everytime we meet

I let go today
along the stride I fought
it died
I let it wash away
all the while striding as if I owned something
these two fisticuffs are my only weapons
in my heart you claim youre perfect
so I give in
I chain my wrists to a radiator and smile
your devesatation is understandble
but
I need you and whats more I want you
I let go today
stopped looking to those things
as uncomfortable as it is
Ill stop looking to the run marks
burnt marks
Ill stop right here
and rest
letting pollen fill my dreams

The thing you do for the what when wanting that huh

this is the one last final chance
finale of tries
no versos or pinch hitters
for this thing comes with a broom
and whisks away my most tired sweat drops
confusion gifted to my most formulaic motion
to be honest
my lovecareheartforyou is tired
it left me two tries ago way down under the bayou
once I commence Ill be parted for good
bonding with the Narmanda and damming all my pity
away away I’ll travel and carry
not a bag or a seed of return
I say to myself once looking directly at this thrice
this is the one last final chance
after this I can guarantee no other

Indecision

little one in the jungle worn
among a cocoa tree he sang a song
a vow was made
pledging to move on
to you my Lord the one said
no longer a contingency plan you'll be to me
for this day is yours
today will be forever more
rise and fall
in and out
my shallow moments
will bring regret to glory
but still not stilling the motion
together we will complete our journey
these chained events will compose my legacy
you will no longer be a contingency plan
I will look in the mouth of the lion
and fear not

I have nothing
a poor man can only trust in you
and with this
the little ones prayer would end

Romance is Punk Rock

Ill find her one day
avoiding the jaded like partial isles
Ill look at her and she'll look at me
eyes far away from cheap thrills
Ill write her a song
performed with a poem
and shell cherish my hand
that writes thoughts with heart
shell nevermind diamonds
because Ill be her best friend
and we will
laugh and cry with chapped lips
tripping over winter together
when I see you
you will turn around and look directly at me
my gestures wont be split with another
because ill have your heart
indicision will lay with davey jones in this love story
together speaking in unison
synchronized breathing
with uncoordinated misunderstanding
my calls will have meaning
everyone returned
never a one falling to the ground
delaying indecision
never a sway
laying a solid foundation
lasting until two become one
never departing
only unison
no requiem's until forever comes

time stood still
and outside of eternity
in my mind I formed your picture
a common lovers pastime
romantically involved with thoughts of you
never too busy
perfect love has no watchdog
so i sat
and i cried
all the years I longed
for your ownership on these arms
so today I write
at the ocean liners last stop
this is my elongated thought
the memory's wish that stopped time
the thought that I kissed
to me you are spring
and flowers sitting on sun
and all the while the breeze is blowing

you continue to build but Ill wait here
the water rises but Ill wait here
despite your courts
above your obsession
possesesion of self
leaving us to die
I will wait here for the manmade tide
for my heart has not gone numb
I can feel the cold water
and your resolve rise

The Maheshwar Dam : a Brief Introduction

The Maheshwar Dam is part of the Narmada Valley Development Project that entails the construction of 30 large and 135 medium-sized dams in the Narmada Valley. Maheshwar is one of the planned large dams and is slated to provide 400 Megawatts in energy. The project has been planned since 1978 and was originally under the auspices of the Narmada Valley Development Authority. In 1989 the responsibility for Maheshwar was conferred on the Madhya Pradesh Electricity Board (MPEB). Subsequently in 1993, the concession for the Maheshwar Project was awarded to the S. Kumars, a textile magnate. In 1994, the project received a conditional environmental clearance from the Central Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF). Maheshwar is the first privately financed hydroelectric dam in India and is expected to displace around 35,000 people. As with Sardar Sarovar, the details of resettlement and compensation are nowhere near a satisfactory state of affairs. The NBA has been leading the movement against the Maheshwar dam.

On December 13th, 2000, Ogden Corporation joined the procession of companies that were forced to withdraw from the Maheshwar project. In 1998 and then 1999, first, the US power utility Pacgen and then the German power utilities Bayernwerk and VEW Energie withdrew from the Maheshwar Project. Subsequently, in June, 2000, a team of international experts commissioned by the Development Ministry of the German government visited the valley and came out with a report that sharply indicted the Project. In the wake of the report, Siemens was compelled to withdraw its application for an export guarantee from the German government, and a proposed loan of Rs.5700 million from a German bank fell through.

The Narmada River

Narmada Diary

Its nearly complete
that dam built for giants
We will be no more
After it’s built
That dam built for men bigger than us
spanning fifteen million acres across our ancestors graves
splitting the waters of our divide
It’s nearly complete
the dam of the misunderstood
can you hear us?
Its hard to hear prayers underwater

The title is taken from an Indian movie that tells the story of a people being wiped out by greed. A dam that continues to be built while thousands of indigenous people lose generations of progress and thier enitire lives destroyed.

Speed Poetry

While attempting to perform poems on the streets of NYC one day I found that people don’t stop. Shocker. So I tried to adapt and wrote something I dubbed a "speed poem". It’s a poem that will instantaneously grab the reader’s attention and get them to stop, give you money, read your poetry, whatever. It has to be short, sweet and preferably inder 3 lines. My Speed Poem worked for me and the poem titled "speed poem number one." was the first one ever done.
I was standing on 42nd and 7th with a cardboard box and took a Sharpie marker and wrote the poem on the side of the box so that passerby's would see the poem and lend my thoughts a second. I got more reaction than interaction but my art was seen so I was satisfied. In my opinion thought is priceless. (one possible interpretation of the second poem is Einstein's theory of relativity but I'm no scientist so I think you know the interpretation I enjoy the most)

speed poem number one
one second to make an impression.
done.

This is my big shoe
left to me by a world gone mad
Everyday I walk eleven miles with a tin cup
begging for air and fresh fish
Immersed with the thickness of living
I constantly look for a friend
you pass me by unaware
not waiting to lend me compassion
your ear's auricle is my highest desire
and my hours of bidding was for a stool to wash your heart
here in afghanistan im nothing
homeless and deserted
wishing for cool air from stoic winds

Nigun

he rushed before the morning
put his uniform on
I'm running to war
I'm running to fight he said
this war has to be fought
and your daddy might never return
Ill swing this eighteen foot ax until they are all chopped down
one by one
hairy arm by hairy arm
my sweat will be so thick
and your happiness will be so proud
don't cry my little ones
don't miss me a second
I'm crossing this river Jordan
but don't desire even one rubber boot
resist the temptation and don't look back
my memory will be a warm foundation
If my touch is lost to you
the kids confused age barely touching five
said why go to Sheol
to fight something so huge
we love you here
so why not fight your war here
with us and mom now
dad thought long and hard and worn
but he went anyway knowing sacrifice means not seeing the dawn
he crossed oceans, lakes, and bights
swung his ax and fought that war
he fell
and Zion cried
a letter survived much like new soldiers before
It reached his little ones now past five
past the dawn of war
he said I've seen many things
even convincing regret
I've killed man, woman , and child
I've taken away to preserve a land I've almost forgot
all for you
this blood I fear is all for you

this missions worth had its lusty gleam
now a land
less its offspring
a dispute that kills a mans touch
to have them and their kin cry succor
so our lives remain untouched
is a price to high for war
and even though I once knew
now I've forgotten
what I once fought so dearly for has reached its bourne
I'm a man with no auricle
wars cruel naught

each reaction greater than the other
the thing I wrapped my hands around?
apathy. this thing I discovered
promised to end their pain
no one cares about us unless we have
gold bullions and pixie dust
never again will I autoplay you
its to important to let you die here
cape? no just action
ill swoop down doc martens laced
and let them all know how futile this is
to try and contain something unfettered
so I creatively flip you off

World Peace

We stood there and he looking at me
saw something yet to be
he said in your eyes are spread hope
neatly trimmed copses and a soldier made of oak
an emperors robe and a white dove
a tire with holes
and a bearded man holding thickets of wool
your hands remind me of a time when two dollars equaled four
a dance i once forgot and idealism written down
once
but now lost
In you I see what I've walked the earth manually trying to find
sleepful dreaming I never once found

Hesitation abounding I explained
a man's journey starts alone but doesnt finish that way
you've been looking for me and I you
Across the stars and through every bar
shallow deep and medium sized puddle
your tune is a broken beauty
a song I long to hear
follow me each day and we'll be complete
you I me and we
floating along concrete street
following whims desire and honey
This is a new day
lovely
but complete

and when Im no more
the legacy you survived will remain in me
shown that my heart was never sewn in to be my own

Pillows and Roads

there was once a boy who was a squire
he watched his master everyday
returning triumphantly slaying the latest beastly dragon
he admired his master
the knight
in secret like many squires before him he shadow fought eight million dragons
triumphantly smiting each one
then one day the squire met a girl
and he forgot about dragons
vowing to become a man and conquer her heart
the squire dared not speak to the lady knowing he was unworthy
so the squire trained
lifted rocks and weights
he learned the way of the sword not for justice or peace
but to slay her heart
to win it for himself
many years passed and the squire saw he was as close as possible to becoming a man
a knight feared by many
he traveled many lands and refused many hearts for his prize
he even killed one thousand dragons
all to become something more than he was
so the day arrived
and he stepped boldly to his soon to be love
her eyes were just as he imagined
her hands and nails artfully composed
soft hair and the tone of her voice just above a gentle whistle as she said
"come please"
"who are you" she said
the squire replied
"do you not remember me?"
" I traveled many lands and fought many fearful things. I grew and I toiled. I wearied but never gave up. All of this I did so I could gaze upon you with courage. For years I waited to be worthy for your voice to recognize my face. For years I waited until worthy of you."
the lady paused then looked down with something unexpected in her eye.
all at once the new squire of courage looked shaken and unsure
now expecting something he did not want to hear
and all at once it was released
she said "I knew who you were when you walked up those stairs to see me. but much like you I also waited. Only i waited not for the knight I see before me I waited for the shaky squire. The boy who tripped over his two feet and knew not a thing of honest guile."

"I waited in a land far away but always in the same place. Each day I watered a flower hoping to see you the hopeful squire walk up those stairs, stutterer and then ask a question this lady longed to hear. but you never came. 'He' did."

The squire hearing this stood frozen and never returned
so reversed from the sharpest of pains he could ever conceive he never discovered warmth again. Convinced from then on of the never ending and truthful nature of something he once possessed.

he stopped me
and i spit
i said the thing that lit my devastation
was being acclimated to such revolt
but in these nanoseconds i serve them
each one clicking
one gear slipping
and you with your arms grab something
that cant be felt up
a security baton
against a million man thought
a movement that predates metal detectors
so he stood there in front of an x ray machine
mouth open and wooden boot drawn back
so I
nip/tucked my shirt and declare innocence
over the masquerade
pointing out that stopping me
isn't very eloquent

the journey took its toll but i still went on
I waited twenty-six years and you werent there
when i saw you
face ghostly
you werent there
you told me to turn around and face certain death
forget all the surefooted sorrow I experienced
you said travel back to where I came
walk twenty six years barefoot
with your back facing your destination
then you told me this land isn't promised
its filled with ghosts and regret
misery masked with dance and spirits
and stories shared with silent conversation
you were too weak to fight
that day your mouth broke in two
and a ghost became my innocence
eyes seen what no man told
your silence completing a formation
the worst of our transaction was your silence

Passage

I left my sleeve in New Orleans
no one bothered to pick it up
with my worn sandles and my heavy backpack
people just stare
my sleeve still in New Orleans
no tag
no identifying mark
I shouldve stitched my middle name on the innards
motivating one to foward it to my block
I shouldve asked advice before i packed my red sack
full of junk
now I arrived at what i thought was the end
no sleeve and a bag full of rut
I shouldve known this wouldnt last
but i had to come back
you led me here sleeveless
familiar glances being tossed my way
back to New Orleans I go
but this time ill arrive with your sleeve
and a pot full of luck

no mouth
i want to speak about horrid images fixated on sharded
glass over puple moons and sick shackles
the meaning i find only we can understand
so we sit here questioning ginseng tea
on a boathouse
in Japan
whilst munching crumpets
i need to be like we always are
around my wolfpack i feel normal
i can peacably say the absurd and never offend
around them
and the aformentioned will never be considered rhetoric
because around my possie im a traveling gypsy
misunderstood and alive
please let me say the obsurd while you listen
im cough syrup why cant you disbelieve?
i must insist to be an enigma before you bark like an owl
the things which youve spoken are not
but you can clearly see i am
what good would an imposters life have on the market
but i spill myself pimping every single emotion
just to convince you we're not christian scientists
that this neighborhood has a name

Things we learn from circles

I looked at my tombstone from where I was
foggy was the word at best
It was a long tombstone of all our interactions
but it was easily summerized in a few sentences
i wondered without you
you stood there each day and repeated
no steps were taken into this space
you stood at that pale doorway
afraid of the ocean youd walk in once you came in
you stared at the waves and tried shaking my hand
everyday you remained a pattern
and each day she stood helpless
our legacy remains a lie
because you stand there afraid to walk an oceans mile
Im deep but not that deep
because truthfully we all long to go inside
we just lack the waves to take us there
but my winds are yours
and my mouth is mine
wonder this cannonball away and cross your shores
im calling you near to me
im bigger than all your fears
and ill wash your sins away
regret is a forgotten nike shoe long overdue
can you hear me whisper
dont give up me

Track: Stolen Glances

Kim

This is my day of regret
it happened again
the revolving door brought you in this time
that golden door in that empty grand ball hall
as you pushed and took the first step
i hoped
i loved
hoping everything we were would colllide
dont forsake this
its too important i thought
just a stolen silhouette's shadow
a figment of an iceburg
me and you
and in that small slender hallway
that we walked together
a stigma of summer full with soft breezes
shared between us
swings trees bikes and strawberries
nearly limitless whispers
and you stood there
seeing all that
cotten was our word and we reveled in it
we were an ideal
you saw one truth
shook its hand and smelled its heart
all dirtied from work
but still we couldnt be friends
I long for your presence
Im love itself

(authors note: this poem has nothing to do with love. romantic love anyway.. subscribe to the list and i might give a little bit of authors explinations... maybe haha)

Shurba (soup in arabic)

We had a conversation
Us.
Something had to be established
When we talked I explained
Why did I Explain?
because it was asked
the question?
What do i want out of life
I replied the good things teh good things
Vague answer was the reply
my retort followed and removed the
doubters from the room
I said if I require the good things
and denying all other applicants
the i simply become a new eventuality
performing and jumping higher at each attempt
If every wrong wants to be a right
and if this horrid grip I have on doom
is hated even more
each passing day
you see my grip becomes loosed
and eventually my loose hand becomes habit
before I even know it
I forget what i held to with such familiarity

my conversation with the porter

We finally sat down and had a long interaction
it lasted approximately 1 hour and 56 months
taking place over the course of two lifetimes
the chair i sat in was oak
and as it creeked i stared at his white hair
and his long nails
we looked at the clouds together and stared
then i wondered
then i asked him
why do the clouds move in that direction?
he said in actuality its not the clouds that move
its us
and the earth
moving along
the clouds standing there
watching us pass by

Eyes Open

It's True
The only thing we have to do in order to make our dreams a reality is clench our fist
To put our forks in vapors all that's necessary is for us to clench and hold our fists tight

We aren't useless dreamers
were fighters
marching with new intent

Let me hold your wrist carefully
with one hand
with the other I'll help you clench your fist
helping the realization we can touch our dreams

together is tommorow
never is the intangible
never is the illusion
Im unable to touch we cant succeed

But I can feel your hand in mine
I'm here to touch your fist
You're here to touch mine
Our lives
which compose our dissertation focus the power of the beanstalk

And our lives no longer become fables

Next

The things that I thought this moment in the next are regarded as hate
I thought it was taken from me
and certain the ideal was me clinging to your loose shoestrings
there are some things that will be evident
so why should I be lost in my vexations that cause me to destroy myself
no matter who stabs me with the knights sword
my concerned heart still reads me lullabies
with its reading glasses on
I become “one” willingly
believing a ship this big has a new hand to rip my heart out
each one replaced for the next customer in line
My credit card limit cannot be exceeded
but I still reach for you
regardless of your decisions ill take my ticket please
ill sit silently and thought for you
mindfull of each and every one that passes me by
remembering each name and thanking them
for making me a better human
complete with a blue newspaper stand
Todays edition reads: thanks for reading the Headlines
because this is the news ill be ok and midnight will fade to grey

The end of Journey

In my mind I realize that this is our life
not exsclusively "ours"
the answer came to me one day when I discovered God on a mountain
the most powerful thing one could ever see
so everyday henceforth I traveled up that great mountain
to see God again
and then one day he wasnt there
day after day I went but he wasnt there
until one day I found this garden full of dandelions and wildflowers
there were even some prickly bushes
and after a little bit of exploring I saw God there
we talked and made a real connection
then the same thing happened
just as before
so I searched again this time with a walking stick in one hand
experience and preperation I juggled in the other
with a new haircut and jelly shoes I marched
this happend all throughout my life and despite the mocking of many
Id say it was an amazing one
one thing no one can deny me as they talk mock or hug
one thing remains as undeniable
whenever people talk to me they look first at my hands
and see the experience
my hair and see the beauty
and mostly my legs
they see the distance i've traveled and the size of my
road married legs

Cool Blue

I named you a river called peace
I saw you in a vision one day
and in you the world will know satisfaction
a long cool blue river full of satisfaction
One can only see you at night
on any given perfect day
a long cool blue river against the breezy pastel sky
it was so descriptive that night
we all pulled down adjectives from the sky
each one of us worshiping with our words
spiting our love at the moon that shone brightly in our eyes
the glory of our formerly unknown epiphany
and all this time all we had to do is ride the
long cool blue river called perfect peace
filled with satisfaction

The ecology of our commerce

I am the freedom fighter
I am the caretaker
the indigenous zapatista
the tree squater combined with the rainforest saver
Today is a slow day so Im find myself wondering
in this vacant moment wondering about who you are
and why you judge me
i want to know why you call me a fanatic
dont you care about me?
If it was your family lost in a third world
would you pick up your gun and fight?
if your mother was the next in line
would you join her?
you would
then you'd be on the other side of the tracks
with me
the goal of humanity should be to cross dividing lines
to fight a cause not thier own
together is the ultimate aids vaccine
denial spreads the virus
will you come fight with us?
a side?
all im asking is that when she falls pick her up
pull out your credit card and treat her as if she was your sister
when you see "my" teenage brother with a bullet in his head
care
stop
listen
put down the double mocha latte
for one second consider the price of your apathy in a package
there is something deeper inside us all
life is being taken away from us
at the exact same moment its taken away from them
the ecological system of us is dying
because im connected to you
everything you do means the world to me
and our division kills the earth

We Flew

We looked down atop that cliff
We looked 90,000 feet down that risky hill
That grassy green safety block before life’s flight
then we jumped off that risky hill all along the freefall hoping
hoping we’d grow wings
hoping we would fly after we jumped off that risky cliff
I still remember the grassy green risky hill before the freefall
but we fell freely and learned physics
about 10,000 feet in I felt feathers
about 20,000 feet in she felt a wing
50,000 we both had landing gear
60,000 a beak appeared and our hair exceeded human norms
the air against my face hurt like a tough decision
we both threw away our parachutes after 9,000 feet
grow wings grow
70,000 I felt my dreams desire
perfect love casting out fear
but we still fell together hand in hand
the same fall from the dive off that shady cliff
80,000
90,000 we flew

Consilium by Justin “neo” Shockley

A larger part of me wonders what they think
I’ve never took a wooden canoe down that stream but
I once traded souls with a man who did
He told me a story of a woman he took the journey with
they paddled with desire
their strokes were short
after a while they’re motions didn’t cooperate
it took his mind to the beginning of the journey when they were young
she told him stories of how she visited that ocean
she talked as if she met the waves and stroked the wind with certainty
she seduced the man with tales and her beauty
what did she expect that he wouldn’t eventually notice?
the man memorized every current
she was swimming in his desire
this was nothing short of walking barefoot on splintered mirrors
but she lied to herself
and stole someone else’s current
leaving him confused
“you cant steal the wind” he said “so why did you try?”
“how could an entire ocean fit in a mans pocket?”
All she could say was “one look deceived me.”
Then they parted ways away from this river called consilium
he went his way
she went hers

This poem is dedicated to Davis! Happy Birthday Buddy! (dont worry she'll come just ride the current)

The Corporation

You did not respect me
in turn you murdered me
am i still living?
my lips move but where i once stood i now crawl
the trail you see behind me are my own nails
made from the point of impact and our forced hand
you struck us down and dare call life an ideal
were not an option were the oceans current
gravity is our only mediator
the biosphere our jury of peers
feed us
live with us
please dont forget us
now we lay where you left us
on the floor
still
with open arms
broken jaws
and torn clothes
waiting for reconciliation

OH OH OH

Oh how the light of God shone through him
when he slapped his wife around
Oh How the light of God shone though him
when he walked right by my heart
my arm outstretched begging for change
“get a job” he said as he proceeded to Coldstone to hear some wage slaves sing him some tunes
as he ate his 5 dollar ice-cream cone
Oh How the light of God shone though him
as he told me what a good Christian wall street broker he was
fanning his gut on a hot August day
I’ve got it all together he said as he spoke out of his flapping rear
“more people should be like me. Rich and corporate not lazy and poor.” “look out ‘50 cent’ its my birthday” he said “man im such an awesome Christian unlike you ”
I don’t know it was sort of mystical when he said it...
OH How the light of God shined through him
im so impressed SO IMPRESSED SO IMPRESSED BY YOU CHRISTIANS
all these wonderful experiences leaves an atheists heart fluttering with anticipation of the next
light filled experience.
They were right I need to be more like them
so wrong was I to be tired of the churched
damnation used to be my religion and now its pride
thank you Lord for saving me from my narrow eyes
I look forward to the day when I can say
Oh How the light of God shines through me

Authors note: this is written from the perspective of an aethiest. even though im very much Christian

Decision

I think I've decided i was never meant to be here
I think I've Decided I was never meant to sit here
living with my passion in a shallow puddle
in the bottom of my shoe isnt considered wishful thinking
everyday perpetual disillusionment
my next order wont be a foggy bottom
my reason is found in bouncing against rejection
right around the corner I see it
It's right there underneath my eye
I'm getting up from this chair now ok?
you're here because you have to be
fears whispers made your hand clutch and throat close
I'm not afriad so im getting up from this chair now ok?
sandals feel like new hair
finally with all this i can breath
smelling the oceans tide and ressurection
