tiny image
im a tiny child
screaming into a television screen
a small child
comprehending all that is seen
Im a tiny child
begging for a world to see
there is a world outside the tele
so much more that you can see
put aside your glowing living rooms
smash your glassy screen
no longer give listen to commercials
for wasted are your dreamy visions
unexplored are heavens means
there is a world beyond your generated imagery
there is one greater beyond your tv screen
for your god will swallow your forgotten memory
a boob tube is all "this world" sees
for my re-birthday is a new impossibility
my father now grafting me in his tree
for him I gave toss to my tele
to look at dad's arms hold someone like me

The working people of Bethlehem
I wonder what Bethlehem and the world
were doing that day
when God stepped down from heaven
and in a manger lay
before they knew
they would be pardoned of all sin
before they knew
a babe called Jesus
would make them all new again
was the candlemaker crying
left hopeless in despair
was the woodcutter fretting
life in shambles contemplating fear
my mind wonders if the peasant girl
felt useless
in a world that gives her no more worth
than a bearded lady at the fair
did the working man lie in agony
before the beatitudes were ever sung
or maybe the man in prison
had a ray of hope before he was hung
you see God stepped down to Bethlehem
to give them hope that day
in a manger a babe lie wrapped in linen
and all were given hope
yesterday tommorow and today
Author's Note: Merry Christmas

Listening to: I love you by Giorgio Licazi
cold wind heartless rain
single leaf
in the roaring rain
cold winds
has it all left you in dismay
little leaf
ginormous winds
deafening rain
does it all seem quite inane?
poor little leaf
wreckless rain
cold hearted winds
a world of shame
it makes me think
who will take away your blame?
then all at once the sun shineth yet again
breaking through the cold wind and rain
making everyday
brighter again
Author's Note: "...In this world you will have tribulation. But be of good cheer for I have overcome the world." - Jesus Christ.

Cheap
Today It Seems
i wish you could see what i see
today
they world is no longer for me in disarray
the addiction to it has gone away
my life it seems are lovely shades of grey
combining the failures and complexities
all dancing together in a strange sort of way
i look up to sky clouds and bird
to hear the sun say g'day
greeting me i smile
joyously filled with mirth
a laugh escapes
the morn never tickled me this way
I see the possibility of the twenty four hours
laid before me...
today.

shades of grey powerful
It's beautiful and mighty full
All shades of grey
mystical and all powerful
It's beautiful all powerful
these shades of grey more mighty still
they captivate and stimulate
never leave me in an understate
so glory full
never a nil
captivating me into still
these shades of grey
on my heart they pull
so beautiful
so beautiful...

pirates always do get wet
for ive seen the depths of my being
and in it
there is no hope
no sanity
no peace
no goodness
no purity
no honor
no love
no perfection
no beauty
just ash
just brimstone
just hostility
just anger
just a stiffneck
simply rebellious
constantly disasterous
despair and doubt I caress
my farm produces death
but my father
my father
my father
looks at me nonethelss
freeing me from this decaying body of death
warming me from the cold winds
all entirely produced from my breath
he loves me oh how he loves me
despite my rebelliousness
this day he says
son I love you
especially your wrecklessness
take this kiss
to remember me
let it be a sail for you
in the times of your stress
remember this
my scratchy line dove
pirates

perception
It's funny how one thought
can disrupt the world around you
cloud you
arouse you
decieve you
break you
conflict risen about you
inside you
divide you
make you
shake you
dillude you
diffuse you
corrupt and confuse you
drain you
and at the same time name you
then another thought may come in
but this thought
saves you
uplifts you
tells you to hold on
persist and don't let the dark clouds tame you
you're captivated
turning aside in hope
pulled over sitting on an empty road
morningside sun up
clouds sifting through to bring bitter sunshine
with a stark sound brushing against
dark greys and smart violets
walking though winnowing fields
with peacful handfuls of destruction
saying "all is well with this one
joy is a hard thing to hold onto
in the face of suck sticky muck
one like this needs someone
with a great big pick up truck
hefty enough to carry loads of numbness and drudgery"
then with one coming great lines of complex imagery
all simply to great to not smash the insanity
breaking every hope belonging to misery
God saying
hold on
today
in my image I made thee
rhythm is my gift to thee
rotating like a world of dancing trees
wind
stars
and falling leaves
my motion choreographed
will carry free
In you my hope I give ye
fear not
I.
am.
always.
with thee.

Demon Days
Beautiful converts face
recalling what I asked you that day
the revealing of the thing
want of awe another way
I look and see what once
was not
but now is
a beautiful piece not belonging to me
but artfully put in it's place
a complex view
of your simple saving grace

pigeon then new
I asked to see the beauty
of a pigeon
colors grey and drab
beak unfit for anything
but for me to spit and stare
but then one day like floating imagery
mine eyes did see something there
the flight of a rodent butterfly
gracefully dancing in the air
for never did beauty once lift my doubt
so far into heights unaware
it seems this unfavored
be now a redemptive dove
purest of all with wings

Sky Grain
To wherest can I conclude you'll be
The day is vast
can a blind man see?
fill my air with your lungs throughout
give me breath for my stature is stout
Author's Note: dedicated to my friend davis who is going through some hard times right now. Interestingly enough if you look too closely at the picture it is really grainy. I purposely did this to the photo. But far away it looks beautiful. Perhaps sometimes in life (as in viewing the photo)we need to take a step back. Perspective is often a big picture process.

Why said I
I fear the loss of precipitation
the loveliness of it's drops
the water falling on a hot summer day
all refreshment lost
I fear the death of innocence
when man can no longer gaze long at a rose
when wilted are his leaves gone dry
soil trodden by his big toes
my concern is for that aching pain
making so many give in
the hurt pressing on a tattered soul
deceiving the eyes of hope's kin
for the glorious seed of brighter days
filled with sunshine and breezy shores within
are purposefully placed alongside blue shores
no eye unscathed will win
so listen and hope fast my love
let this all comfortably sink in
broken feet cannot measure perfect streets
to some things we must always cling

The Passion of the Christ
Track:
The Stoning
Peace alongside beauty
I looked at the edge of sin
shirt gripped
backside
holding tight
my savior cried
away from the ledge
he said with tears in his eyes
this is as far as you go
don't you know without me you'll die
where are you my pretty
dont disregard the truth for a lie
I fight with you pity
do not dispair
do not bed with the father of lies
this cannot conquer you beloved
this cannot dry even one eye
for dance in the spring of my beauty
lavish yourself in my eyes
for my heart is a land of plenty
rooms filled with incense mirth and frankincense
even angels rest by my side
come now
play
and be made pretty
stay firm and realize
to be robed in my glory
is all you ever truthfully desired
