destined to be a roaring lion
but taunted by the cold
and emptied by deceit

little flame destined for greatness
yet tasting agony
and dealing now with a heart grown weak

four walls sounding the trumpets
claiming victory
claiming defeat

little flame in a last effort
catches a blazing fire
burning everything headstrong
ending the opaque nightfall
and winning with heat

overcoming what once looked ugly
that thing which made all bleak

little flame believed in a fire greater
a warmth along which and partnered with
now strong enough to oppose those who gave him beat
