a fool's hope


hope
that smallest ray
seen after the darkest note
the smallest ray
after that dagger
with my blood it did coat
from above the sky
down from which it did float
that narrow gate
a sign above
the weight of it
full of hope
the smallest ray
suddenly much more
now I can say
I know the stem
from which grows hope
