Sleeping to Dream

waking memory

im up
the smell of the thought of you
restled me now im stuck
who wants to sleep
because if I fall asleep I'd lose the dream
my waking days wander
hoping my lurking thoughts dont betray

I want what I can't have
desiring a standing dream with both eyelids open
why dream
for a shore distant
a cliff too high
or a notion to long a journey to stray
when you're a waking memory
a thinking twinkle
not mine
or I
your arms intent betray

authors note: poem about a gal who didnt like a guy. the guy still likes the gal; the gal still doesnt like the guy. the guy tries to let go of the gal but for some reason he still likes the gal in fact he still thinks shes sweet. nothing wierd just a funny fact of life. yup. its about me.

the song im listening to is appropriate: "...sleeping to dream about you.. and I'm so tired."

new that man

blue man blue man
twenty first century blue man
im a new man
face chiseled and pressed
every contour exact

this shell is not my own
nor did i think it was a design I could call my own
im another man not the once I was man

the stains have been removed man
my heart given to that man
scars given to yesterman

changed by clouds
head stuck in a blue heaven
clear like the father day
I can truly say
Im a new man a new man
no longer addressed as a blue man

Peckle

Its wednesday again
im in ireland wondering when this horror will end
foggy clouds letting me see
just enough
seeing a peckle of clear sky
just enough
bird fly blue wings getting height
climbing the stratosphere
just enough
just enough
carried to where she needs to go

why wake to a penniless day
a ship needs wind or else its named alone

just enough
seems like its worth more than I've known

Authors note: peckle isn't a word as far as I know. I took it from the word peck

roam roam sing and roam
forgetting the false comfort of a sheepskin coat
gone worn
I set my mind above
the when I leave
above the clouds
eternally home

Authors note: Dr Ravi Zacharaias raised a thought about the bible and worship. the thought is this: Have you ever wondered why we never read about God laughing in the bible? Perhaps its a Joy so great that its reserved for heaven. Perhaps the mirth of God is reserved for when we join him in eternity.

serengeti senectitude

the thought comes to me one day
a time past former to the day

its possible he said
to swing away
while mailing a letter on the del rio
grab a vine and sway
worry wont make you slip
and with every passing wave
your heart will grow fonder
escaping your aches and loving each err
realizing this day is for you
with every light swing
forgetting the baked pain with you

so I trusted
remembering
fond I was floating the memory of that day
feet leaving the ground
sweeping with speed
along the friendly waters of the serengeti

Rich Pot Maker

run run legs like a chariot run
far wide fast you lunge
my race your race then all at once

we run overcome
this race is one
the way that I see it
not alone is it run

with you by my side I sit beside the day
hand tied
an aide to a pot maker
catching pennies
serving all that I have made
It's pauper
with happiness
I've become

Authors note: alot is in this poem. One thought that is at the forefront of my mind at the moment is this.

"He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose."
Jim Elliot

Live your life so that it makes sense in the light of eternity. That can often mean doing things like loving those who harm you. Take the hard road. Later on it will be worth it.

Cross I Walked

how could I have known
everything you've come to be
no greater love is there
unbeknownst to me

now lies a king
dividing thorn thought thistle and sea
for you walked on that cross
and died for me

1 peter 4:8
8 And above all things be earnest in your love among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins.

Reforgiven Forsaken

to seek you with all my heart
done
but somehow its not enough
a peasants cloak becomes the pattern of my heart
a lick becomes my promise
my best arrow a dart
my rank goes from general to chef
loftiness leaves me
the question becomes lament
requiem for ideology
pedistool made queen

I serve you my giveups leftovers and scraps
pushing them aside
smiling
you laugh
joy in your eyes I can now sing
was this ever meant
for me to serve an unservable king

my crown
given so that I can see
and my cloak a preposterous thing
for my dream
in my eyes
I thought myself ruler
formerly not perceiving the throne's heart
but this time
I give in

a day takes a lifetime

a long day
length exceeding a year and an hour
but I wait for you
not sure of a direction
weary stretched and ridden

the lighthouse didn't appear
nor stirrup ready
still frustrated I wait
convinced there is no other path
stolen by gratitude
fixated
I wait
every desire caught up in adoration
worship is still bound broken and silent

with eager motionlessness
I wait
full speed force and locomotion
frozen stopped atuned and attentive
I wait

apology accepted

I've wronged you
Ive wronged wronged wronged you
I feel departed so why not leave you?

he answered

because there is no place you go that I can't find you
there is no distance to great that I would not set out and seek you
there is no mountain so high that I wouldn't set out
on exploration to meet you
no pit to dirty to go in head first and retrieve you
no stain to ugly to clean in order to serve you
no army to great to fight for you
no conflict to unbearable to advocate for you

what's more if you left I would miss you
if it suddenly turned winter i'd miss the warmth of you
holding hugging and sitting beside you
amongst the coal and fire
nothing burns brighter than the thought of you
and all this is to say
Im madly full of love with you
desperately with joy I love you

Lilac Turned Ugly

lilac turning to a dull blade
the flower is dying now
I was certain I planted it in fuzzy soil
brown gritty and ready
no pot just trusting in nature's way
but I stomped it with a boxcar named betty
destroying some
thing
that could never hurt me yesterday tomorrow or today

mistrust is left without the friendship of content
who knew
it even snows whilst killing flowers
in the ides of may

Conjunction

I look upon your eyes
a clasped finger encircles mine
this certainty I wont forsake
a window of time for eternity's sake

it is in words my soul put it's stake
defining themselves
one life combined
with a simple merry
then suddenly my entirety has been given meaning
no sound too ill
no conjunction too heavy

my hope for yipsilanti

in solitude my soul is no longer found
misery a lost art
now this resounds
a flutter of vision
four plus one score and two
a glimmer bright bestowed to a skivvy
a cross in roads loving misery
I was lost
but
now im found
love lifted me
love lifted me
love
served
me

Mirth N' Worship

in a moment I knew you and you knew me
sadness was something refracted from me
the sun stars death and birth
all seem less chaotic
within a new mirth
and all this wondering
now hoping to no more stray
giving me gaiety
everytime I rise a new day

and I read
and I study
we love
my chest ruddied

and I laugh for God
and I smile for God
and I have joy with God
and I laugh through God

Author's note: a poem about heaven, the joy of the lord, and worship. Worshiping God is a hint of heaven and sines God's joy on us.

Pirate Jim No Mass

this is a tale that made a pirate soggy
so about your tears fore' the crew eats you like bait
a tale o' hurt
the cause a bonnie lass flirt
filthy but tender are at the heart
of this this tales innermost content

ol' cap'n jim he was once a ships monkey
no crimp or doubloon could lead this man astray
fore jim would one day be a pirate
with gold tooth he'd never deny it
a black sail of his own would he posses one day

so jim did grow
burly beard full of spat
with a cutthroat crew they sailed the seas and let fly thier frigate
leaving no free to remember
thier jolly roger
never again to see light they'd say "ballast be o'er day"

then one day a cable jettisened ol cap'n jim
a fluke set his piratical acts
her name was o'clare and wih a wisp captured that seadogs lip n' fancy
they met but she alone conquered
hip with switch she doctored
leading like a simple galley

and it was alone he now ventured
fore she made haste with a two fold booty
cap'n jim mutineered
taken by a wenches eyes
no ship
cup o' coins
or bonnie lass to lessen a broken hearts levy

if love were clap in irons this would be jim's fate
for after she was done it was love's prison he'd marry

one day she was less than a whisper
cap'n jim's heart a reef in a lone vesper
drifting
with no ship
jack o' staves
nor man of war for a buccaneer to prey

king's loving ransom

what is this bestowed to me
nails and bones and victory
a stain and frown removed from thee
the wieght of night is what unsettled me
a plight appeared and removed my frown
no greater love than this was found
a hope within is what I see
for one gave all to be with me
no greater love can a being caress
through pain and darkness my knight fought my death
retreating my giant and serving my time
recluse was the bitter clocks chime
what is this when he founded me
a rugged cross with love's tears it pinned thee

Authors note: John 3:16-18

16"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,[f] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. 17For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him. 18Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God's one and only Son.[g]

collective memory of a thoughtless romantic

these are the collective of my fantasy
inspired
comments
but poetry in motion nonetheless
that is if you want them to be
because today it was a thought to me
today it was a whirly thought to me
that one day true love came to be
and in that twenty four we fell in love
and in those hours pigeons became doves
could this be a silly love song
am I just a dreamer who's let his thoughts gone wrong
Ill be a fool and a desperate romantic
lest my eyes open and the thought
of women practicing needless sex in the city
makes me frantic
an eratic line now outside
but formerly in our attics

ever since I was a boy
I wanted an other
to hold
gently kiss
and say I love her
with her I'd set
and in the morn she would rise
bitter cold never seperating
something to pure to demise

Authors note: some lines need to be drawn. Romance should always stay alive. :)
