Parted lips a waking cry
a valley of death my hearts desire

I look inward an oasis I see
a isle of distraction
a dark cloud obstructing thee

I wait in the darkness
forgetting the light
no pain or misery
bliss confused by delight
awkward is my unveled misery

stumbling over light

proceeding down the pew seats
drunkard man blind and new


I make my way past the vestibule
stiff as oak with speech like mice
truth a welcome hangover
lasting longer than two times a fortnight


slowly gaining my stillness
going nowhere
just light
blessed

Jesus our mast of mercy


Blessed risen you bring me to your height
Seated triumphant with septor crown on my heart

I want to be
far away from me

a chimney top
candy mountain top

Inside of me
its not a possibility

although hope seems failed

stubbornly hold on

you see it's hope that must be defeated
its the sliver that makes up an abundance of light

I look down at my hands
these are not my own

I continue to try to scope with my weak eyes

I rise and my bones ache aches joints and I shake

I wake up in the morning and feel the sunlight on my face
the beating my heart does as it feels love approach like invisible mist

almost ejecting itself from my body my heart pounds

for what can I do to hold back such a strong longing
I feared my death was appraoching

faster my heart did beat as the sun did shine

the glory and destruction of this temple

for what could I do but long for it too
if my heart did take me then like the wind
I too would blew

but I did not go this day
for one thing alone made me stay
my heart decided to delay
and this one thing did it say:

to live Christ and to die gain

I guess it was a toss up
to die another day

me and my fiance. She still makes my heart beat faster.

Christ warned us of the coming wars and the rumors of war
in conflict still he promises peace for all who believe in him

do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid"
the world in all its efforts cannot give lasting peace to you
it only has lies and pain and germane history to heed
lonely and cold each year adding to the sorrow in our lives we reach for anything but God
to fill our emptiness
still denying ourselves that we can cope with real LOVE JOY AND PEACE
Jesus Christ comes with rest for our weary soul if only we trust in him
anything else we try is futile and empty

remember war and hate is rooted in the human heart
for years we have tried to obtain but still we fight and covet
like an unplugged chord dangling in the abyss
our lifeline to god
our soul hangs lifelessly severed and separated by our pride and unwillingness
to believe we can be loved, forgiven, and held by God himself
the nations will collide around you your world may crash
but if you trust and believe in Jesus Christ to save you
then you will have true peace in your soul
as for you you were dead in your transgressions and sins
in which you used to live when you followed the ways of the world
but because of his great love for us God who is rich in mercy
made us alive with Christ
It is by grace you have been saved

What. that. If?

If god is love
what are we getting away with when we hate?

If Jesus is charity
then what money have we saved when we dont help
that beggar on the street

If God is Justice
then how safe are we when we don't speak in place the oppressed
not caring for those who dont have enough to eat

If Jesus is love
If Jesus is love...

If God is our father
then what great life have you gained by ignoring or leaving your kids?

If the good Lord is hope
then what could possibly be encouraging about one more Gossip like word?

If Jesus is community
then why leave out the weakest among you because he cant afford or is in need?

If Jesus is wealth
then is not living sacrificially gain?

We move away when we think we're moving toward
we push away and walk comfortably on a bed of thorns

we make Christ in our own image
all the while the cross is scorned..
