Track: You

Pray you'll get this

I'll speak this quietly now
lest the world will watch
I'm unaware and uncaring to what they say
the timing of my breath releasing octaves
in this rhythm
the vice taking over me
I'm hoping mobs will comprehend
giving my sweat to futility
these knees are scraped
much effort going into you
getting me
but I'm wasted
spent
giving myself to my
rise fall and death
pleased to believe
living thrice
reposting a wasted bitter scar fallen then rebirthed
all new with no suite

Edamame

I'll live my live like edamame
steamed
soy
beans
this confrontation wont last if I see it
him
the last
that's what I told myself
then one day
I died
after that I plucked the maker's brain
asking him why some days I couldn't enjoy them
why some days they werent as sweet
days they weren't packed with joy
and some days they were soggy and beat
not to mention the few days they were perfectly perky

I was sure he'd tell me
and sure enough this is what he said
each day they were good to eat but because of yourself
you only enjoyed a few
each day they were steamed to perfection
each bean had not a care in the world
I made this entire world for your ecological consumption
taking into consideration
my immaculate farming guidelines for beans
despite the fact that you prefer beats

Bike poem that got wrote

up that bridge
the long bridge across night
lights along the side
me we rode
night time was the length of the bridge that was spent
on my bike We rode across each other
and I whisper
tonight tonight you'll make me appreciate tonight
my feet are worn
but steady
with you I'll ride
making me appreciate the brooklyn lights
street lights
you roll
I stake
putting your friendship beside me
comforting me
knowing I can see now
friends like you sustain and last
with a bike and hope
now one
proceeding up a stocky hill

We're all the same

I think an obvious statement is we are supposed to be ourselves. In today’s society I constantly see people living up to images. Now I know everyone instantly gives the affirmation that they are a complete individual separated from consumerism but I think in an odd way that attesting to perfection. We all need to learn and none of us have an inner utopia. Nonetheless you can I believe we can be individuals to a large degree.

Individuality is essential for a society to survive. Survival can be defined on multiple levels. There is the Economic, Social, Psychological and so forth. It’s important especially today to understand the importance of individual contribution to the collective whole. We should most certainly understand that our individual action have a direct impact on every little detail of future events. Individuality is the foundation of survival. It’s how we were designed to exist. Take that away and were all “dancing in a graveyard” as headnoise (punk band) put it.
There is a quote that goes “we classify and categorize to keep ourselves divided. We are individuals not the images divided.” How true is it that the real walls aren’t corporate structures necessarily or neighborhoods we have fears of going into. The dividing lines aren’t locked doors or hostile faces. They aren’t even social classes or the person you said “wasn’t your type” so you “denied their application”. No the true walls are the one we put up in our heart. The idols of our self images. Dividing us and simultaneously destroying a beautiful part of all before its born.

A Straight edge band called With Honor has an amazing song when will we learn. Its a song about unity and the strongest part of the song is just a phrase “when will we learn were all the same” Its so true that we divide ourselves, make a connection with someone we say “we connect with” then look for the division again. Essentially I believe we are all the same. Oddly enough Ill give you the last point of my thoughts from a source that none of you expect but mostly to prove a point. When I majored in Advertising later getting a degree in it there was a system that advertisers used in order to effectively reach coughmanipulatecough consumers. One particular area of this system was illustrated by something called Maslow’s Hierarchy of needs. Notice the top is self actualization. It’s described in terms of the thing that will give you the ultimate satisfaction basically. Or in others words there is something everyone desires. Advertisers go in knowing this and try to exploit that. My point is this. We are essentially all the same and there is something that will fulfill us all. There are things in our lives that we live and die trying to achieve. The biggest of those things is perfect love. We err so much trying to find it. Advertisers know that and they go after our lust for images and so on. Our Lust becomes a profit margin, all the while getting us away from the very thing that could make our society better. A lack of true individuality and division is simply an expression of the wall in our hearts.

All of the things aforementioned begs a question: what came down first? Was it the Berlin wall or the walls in their hearts? We need to search for our fingerprints or they may be lost to us for good.

Untitled

you did fret
but I was there
I moved some things out of your way
only to have the thing moved back again
still I loved you
I was always with you
and all who are destitute
I'll open rivers
place trees where you cant breathe
and turn the wilderness into peace
I'll turn confusion into known
doubt to right
I'll visit you everyday
knowing exactly what to say
my persistance will be the thing you lean on
my hand will be there
when you refuse
and when you hold it

I am the missing part of the art
your heart
the thing I made to form
you and I
when I miss you I cry
hope
Im the link
Im the wishing well with pennyful hope
let me hold you and wayward shouts will cease
Im your champion
your closest friend with no doubts

alone with my thought
liking this pond
now laying on the Lilly pad
pondering
scribbling my thoughts
enjoying the feel good
sorting my thoughts

Clown Eat Soul
that night I wandered off
to a place where most circus goers don't
on the other side of the tent
I met a clown
we met
and stared
until finally he spoke
he said
this is a day if I wished to I might
stride into you anounced
like I've done so many others
and take with me what's there
cherishing whatever is given
you see
each time a humanoid meets another
is a instant to touch them
each passing encounter
is an opportunity to get past that glass door
the glass door to their soul
mine passes in an instant
laugh makeup and all
missed in a joyful moment
all focused on a face of paint
never peering
never curiously independently moving
past the glass
son I say to you
smash the glass and go past the door
we are few
the men who wander
don't waste your moments
good tidings wont wait
and after that
we had a meal
feasting between us

Track: Breakneck Speed

Hopeless Romantically Indeed

On here I slide
zero effort
which is to say "we" will happen
because it was supposed to be like this
always
this hasn't taken place yet
which is to say this is foreshadowing
mine crystal ball
with it I see her
my hands fitting her hips
to the untrained ear
I'm a runaway train
but in her eyes
mind
heart
souls
we are second to God
the old man river with staffs
giving us the one thing that was in our hands
so I smile at this thing thats never happened
stars seem silly but relevant
so Im gripping this fortune by the neck

On this day there is still hope
today an odd buggy day
this strange twenty four hour period
can be filled with a positive outcome
I can stay in the fight if I choose
someone is reading mine eyes
hanging on me
wishing me to pull through
so they'll have a reason to want
this morning is mine
I have to persist
So that's it
I've decided
no more cashing in on emptiness
there is hope for me and us and you
bond this to your memory
some things will never fade

Nonetheless

gallivanting is what I'm doing
at the local corner coffee shop
mug half full
as I
sip another drop
you walk in
I saw your light eyes and flower dress
and on your blinding eyes
traveled my new hope
I almost passed on the notion
to embrace the reality
that people do
anymore
my imagination was likened to one sinking
but one glance at your eyes
and I'm changed
somehow a pogo stick is possible
somehow a soul like yours are possible
I think I'll kiss your mother
and woo the very moment
I was reborn

Perfect Love Eternal

soaked in tears I lift my head
and an unexpected event followed
with my worn enemy in retreat you spoke
I came closer heart pounding
you said I didnt come
to stop your metal solo
your pir·ou·ette
I'm not here to delay your dancing beat
I didn't come to condemn you
or your habits
infatuations
I'm here to be let in
I'm here to always have a place to hug you
my decision is to always love you
the hope of my heart you'll never be able to fully concieve
is to have me in yours forever
for you to glimpse for once small tiny lifetime
something that can never end
put down your chopping block
take your lashes out of the butchers line
lets skip in the moonlit park
after dark
you know im about to tell you to wait for dawn
but you've never done it
you know the beauty of the morn
but you've never seen it
this lifetime is going to be one spent
trying to grasp three words
words you've heard
but have not percieved
words you think you know
but you dont
I spoke in poetry enigmas and riddles
and still you have no peace
then he said perfect love eternal
leaving me alone
running a race to understand

telling me to frown

keeping my rating down
so you dont drown
my rythm is my own
my spellcheck on this one
nonexsistant
you dont understand a flow that hasnt been taught
so Ill make this next sentence stick out and poke you
im larger than your university textbook
bursery scholar rhymes
you dont perceive what you dont get
you hate me
then love your own
this discontempt is disallowed
so Ill run free
Ill write free
and when the world sings my poetry accapella
we will hold hands
us unranged dreamers
no longer wondering what a world would be like
unfettered and free

but no one has elbows in this ginormous city
no one stops and gasps at the air
or stands in awe along with the sky
no one picks cherries
no one sits in the grass
its a perdicament people have in the city
because with no elbows you can't lean back

filled without skyscrapers and cobblestones
when people enjoyed fruit and apple picking
square dancing with thier elbows

With my Bassoon

with my bassoon I play a song
the ambiance of the morning
a ladder of despair
of hope
with my bassoon captives are set free
in a way no lock pick could fathom
with my bassoon I'll walk the pacific
cross waters
carry tears
my music is spice and ginger
on every french baker mans dreams
would you dare for some inspiration
I'm the mellow tune in your last living room
the one you used to remember
because my music is nstalgia
I'm the St marks street you used to know
I'm an odd sock or a lantern in Stockholm
with my bassoon I'll smash your writers block
giving food for you pen
feeding the imaginations

I kiss my bassoon
communicate with the thing
knowing when it breaks
I'll reach deep inside
thanking God
pulling another out
creating tunes once more
my next bassoon will be green
and I'll play through a winters delightfully cool breeze

Boy Yelling Today

I step on the park
in the street
in the square
and all at once
I was given candescent ears
a boy made a yell
fell then a scrape
to the left a women
bellows from her toungue
letting her insides out
and thats all some will see
but not me
not today
even across the street
the farmers market
a mother
her baby
stop and admire each other
giving pause to my glare
I look up
see the sun's eleventh act
shinning as couples laugh
this worlds one great huge discovery
curiosity's pandora
beautiful frowns cant deflect an uprise
everywhere there is life
when I breath
now
that I breath
there are no gasps
and atop a staircase
a boy yells
"NEVER SUCK CURIOUSITY OUT OF TODAY

buds we'd be the best of the pack
she'll be tough and lean
tender hearted and eating canned beans
direct from my dream
we'll be wierd and savvy and stable
rolling through insecurities
looking forward
posi pointing out any pain
you see together we'd love the trees
with the blessing of a truce we made
Pirates we would be

little one in the jungle worn
among a cocoa tree he sang a song
a vow was made
pledging to move on
to you my Lord the one said
no longer a contingency plan you'll be to me
for this day is yours
today will be forever more
rise and fall
in and out
my shallow moments
will bring regret to glory
but still not stilling the motion
together we will complete our journey
these chained events will compose my legacy
you will no longer be a contingency plan
I will look in the mouth of the lion

Ill find her one day

shell nevermind diamonds
because Ill be her best friend
and we will
laugh and cry with chapped lips
tripping over winter together
when I see you
you will turn around and look directly at me
my gestures wont be split with another
because ill have your heart

together speaking in unison
synchronized breathing
with uncoordinated misunderstanding
my calls will have meaning

The Maheshwar Dam : a Brief Introduction

The Maheshwar Dam is part of the Narmada Valley Development Project that entails the construction of 30 large and 135 medium-sized dams in the Narmada Valley. Maheshwar is one of the planned large dams and is slated to provide 400 Megawatts in energy. The project has been planned since 1978 and was originally under the auspices of the Narmada Valley Development Authority. In 1989 the responsibility for Maheshwar was conferred on the Madhya Pradesh Electricity Board (MPEB). Subsequently in 1993, the concession for the Maheshwar Project was awarded to the S. Kumars, a textile magnate. In 1994, the project received a conditional environmental clearance from the Central Ministry of Environment and Forests (MoEF). Maheshwar is the first privately financed hydroelectric dam in India and is expected to displace around 35,000 people. As with Sardar Sarovar, the details of resettlement and compensation are nowhere near a satisfactory state of affairs. The NBA has been leading the movement against the Maheshwar dam.

On December 13th, 2000, Ogden Corporation joined the procession of companies that were forced to withdraw from the Maheshwar project. In 1998 and then 1999, first, the US power utility Pacgen and then the German power utilities Bayernwerk and VEW Energie withdrew from the Maheshwar Project. Subsequently, in June, 2000, a team of international experts commissioned by the Development Ministry of the German government visited the valley and came out with a report that sharply indicted the Project. In the wake of the report, Siemens was compelled to withdraw its application for an export guarantee from the German government, and a proposed loan of Rs.5700 million from a German bank fell through.

Its nearly complete
that dam built for giants
We will be no more
After it’s built
That dam built for men bigger than us
spanning fifteen million acres across our ancestors graves
splitting the waters of our divide
It’s nearly complete
the dam of the misunderstood
can you hear us?
Its hard to hear prayers underwater

The title is taken from an Indian movie that tells the story of a people being wiped out by greed. A dam that continues to be built while thousands of indigenous people lose generations of progress and thier enitire lives destroyed.

Speed Poetry

While attempting to perform poems on the streets of NYC one day I found that people don’t stop. Shocker. So I tried to adapt and wrote something I dubbed a "speed poem". It’s a poem that will instantaneously grab the reader’s attention and get them to stop, give you money, read your poetry, whatever. It has to be short, sweet and preferably inder 3 lines. My Speed Poem worked for me and the poem titled "speed poem number one." was the first one ever done.
I was standing on 42nd and 7th with a cardboard box and took a Sharpie marker and wrote the poem on the side of the box so that passerby's would see the poem and lend my thoughts a second. I got more reaction than interaction but my art was seen so I was satisfied. In my opinion thought is priceless. (one possible interpretation of the second poem is Einstein's theory of relativity but I'm no scientist so I think you know the interpretation I enjoy the most)

speed poem number one
one second to make an impression.
done.

Big_Girl

This is my big shoe
left to me by a world gone mad
Everyday I walk eleven miles with a tin cup
begging for air and fresh fish
Immersed with the thickness of living
I constantly look for a friend
you pass me by unaware
not waiting to lend me compassion
your ear's auricle is my highest desire
and my hours of bidding was for a stool to wash your heart
here in afghanistan im nothing
homeless and deserted
wishing for cool air from stoic winds

Shake Off The Dust...Arise

Track: Short Nigun

Nigun

he rushed before the morning
put his uniform on
I'm running to war
I'm running to fight he said
this war has to be fought
and your daddy might never return
Ill swing this eighteen foot ax until they are all chopped down
one by one
hairy arm by hairy arm
my sweat will be so thick
and your happiness will be so proud
don't cry my little ones
don't miss me a second
I'm crossing this river Jordan
but don't desire even one rubber boot
resist the temptation and don't look back
my memory will be a warm foundation
If my touch is lost to you
the kids confused age barely touching five
said why go to Sheol
to fight something so huge
we love you here
so why not fight your war here
with us and mom now
dad thought long and hard and worn
but he went anyway knowing sacrifice means not seeing the dawn
he crossed oceans, lakes, and bights
swung his ax and fought that war
he fell
and Zion cried
a letter survived much like new soldiers before
It reached his little ones now past five
past the dawn of war
he said I've seen many things
even convincing regret
I've killed man, woman , and child
I've taken away to preserve a land I've almost forgot
all for you
this blood I fear is all for you

this missions worth had its lusty gleam
now a land
less its offspring
a dispute that kills a mans touch
to have them and their kin cry succor
so our lives remain untouched
is a price to high for war
and even though I once knew
now I've forgotten
what I once fought so dearly for has reached its bourne
I'm a man with no auricle
wars cruel naught

Insignificant

Love everybody
Love everything
revise
repeat
redraft
respect all life
especially your own
because out of that
the world will follow

Anarchy by Justin “neo” Shockley

easily broken
I take one hand wrap it around
each side breaks
each reaction greater than the other
the thing I wrapped my hands around?
apathy. this thing I discovered
promised to end their pain
no one cares about us unless we have
gold bullions and pixie dust
never again will I autoplay you
its to important to let you die here
cape? no just action
ill swoop down doc martens laced
and let them all know how futile this is
to try and contain something unfettered
so I creatively flip you off
within 20 lines of captivity

World Peace

We stood there and he looking at me
saw something yet to be
he said in your eyes are spread hope
neatly trimmed copses and a soldier made of oak
an emperors robe and a white dove
a tire with holes
and a bearded man holding thickets of wool
your hands remind me of a time when two dollars equaled four
a dance i once forgot and idealism written down
once
but now lost
In you I see what I've walked the earth manually trying to find
sleepful dreaming I never once found

Hesitation abounding I explained
a man's journey starts alone but doesnt finish that way
you've been looking for me and I you
Across the stars and through every bar
shallow deep and medium sized puddle
your tune is a broken beauty
a song I long to hear
follow me each day and we'll be complete
you I me and we
floating along concrete street
following whims desire and honey
This is a new day
lovely
but complete

Thank You

feeling nominal tension now
ropes become latent
I see something
a dusty blind retracting
today happens
my soul becomes glad
I believe in you
you
my powerglide
help me to see
that they were meant to draw near to me
and when Im no more
the legacy you survived will remain in me
shown that my heart was never sewn in to be my own
so I learn to sew
and hand stitch many gifts

Eyes gone Inside

I look for something that isnt there
I look at you
ney I stare
I wish for your world
a thing I politely ask to know
my view is one who passes by
stopping and seeing the depth
something missed by all before me
this is the thing that could last
this is the thing that was meant to be
another rope cut short at bight
or did we even get that far
to me we and you things are left at your discretion
as a punk band in the distance screams control is an illusion
this is another promised land soon to be forgotten
this week of wait
wondering if im meant to forget
every white cotton blossom I ever saw
In you

The straight edge woman who loved my pride

I need a straight edge chick

letting our x'd hearts will cross the sky and skip the river

*

I need a straight edge chick
not a wimp
one who will get to the show with big x's sharpied on her hand
the woman who can throwdown while the big boys are watchin'
making the fashion core boys crap thier girl pants

*

her hair and her heart only i can see
Ill admire her vegan pride and her heart for purity
laugh dance scream and cry
a straight edge chick with triple x pride
my champion
my drug test
my ten yard fight
my xlookingforwardx
knowing in our hearts our labels never found us
her mind will be mine
and my life will be hers

Pillows and Roads

there was once a boy who was a squire
he watched his master everyday
returning triumphantly slaying the latest beastly dragon
he admired his master
the knight
in secret like many squires before him he shadow fought eight million dragons
triumphantly smiting each one
then one day the squire met a girl
and he forgot about dragons
vowing to become a man and conquer her heart
the squire dared not speak to the lady knowing he was unworthy
so the squire trained
lifted rocks and weights
he learned the way of the sword not for justice or peace
but to slay her heart
to win it for himself
many years passed and the squire saw he was as close as possible to becoming a man
a knight feared by many
he traveled many lands and refused many hearts for his prize
he even killed one thousand dragons
all to become something more than he was
so the day arrived
and he stepped boldly to his soon to be love
her eyes were just as he imagined
her hands and nails artfully composed
soft hair and the tone of her voice just above a gentle whistle as she said
"come please"
"who are you" she said
the squire replied
"do you not remember me?"
" I traveled many lands and fought many fearful things. I grew and I toiled. I wearied but never gave up. All of this I did so I could gaze upon you with courage. For years I waited to be worthy for your voice to recognize my face. For years I waited until worthy of you."
the lady paused then looked down with something unexpected in her eye.
all at once the new squire of courage looked shaken and unsure
now expecting something he did not want to hear
and all at once it was released
she said "I knew who you were when you walked up those stairs to see me. but much like you I also waited. Only i waited not for the knight I see before me I waited for the shaky squire. The boy who tripped over his two feet and knew not a thing of honest guile."

"I waited in a land far away but always in the same place. Each day I watered a flower hoping to see you the hopeful squire walk up those stairs, stutterer and then ask a question this lady longed to hear. but you never came. 'He' did."

The squire hearing this stood frozen and never returned
so reversed from the sharpest of pains he could ever conceive he never discovered warmth again. Convinced from then on of the never ending and truthful nature of something he once possessed.

They Hate You

Track: They Hate You

Terrorist Thought

he stopped me
and i spit
i said the thing that lit my devastation
was being acclimated to such revolt
but in these nanoseconds i serve them
each one clicking
one gear slipping
and you with your arms grab something
that cant be felt up
a security baton
against a million man thought
a movement that predates metal detectors
so he stood there in front of an x ray machine
mouth open and wooden boot drawn back
so I
nip/tucked my shirt and declare innocence
over the masquerade
pointing out that stopping me
isn't very eloquent
because were all slipping under the devastation

accommodate the crashers

I try and see
what you invented in me
but this day etched 'today'
its hardly visible
today is hurting to survive
im wondering if it will last this
these
cold buildings and wasting lights
excrete some more neon fixated fuming flesh pie eaters
it cant live without water
why kill the canned whip creme
it was only a dollar -seventy-nine
why survive on produce and canned avocados
give me hope or well all die
im a distilled farmer straight from the amazon spring
a glimmer is my request
so rain dance this death sequence
give me an aide
a super hip hop aesop fable dancer
that can sew between the lines
and as i stride
I tried

Picture Frame

Im a tanned blue picture framed on the wall
tilted and hung on the water stained surface
thier glove is not my own
the critics all agree theyve got it wrong
i dont suppose im open for interpretation
my market value is off
appraisals come and then appraisals go
im a tanned blue picture framed on the wall
sometimes i feel like glass
colored with care
this is my reality and my statement of
being

Track: The Eternal Vow

Completed Desert Emotion

I waited
twenty-six years to find you
the journey took its toll but i still went on
I waited twenty-six years and you werent there
when i saw you
face ghostly
you werent there
you told me to turn around and face certain death
forget all the surefooted sorrow I experienced
you said travel back to where I came
walk twenty six years barefoot
with your back facing your destination
then you told me this land isn't promised
its filled with ghosts and regret
misery masked with dance and spirits
and stories shared with silent conversation
you were too weak to fight
that day your mouth broke in two
and a ghost became my innocence
eyes seen what no man told
your silence completing a formation
the worst of our transaction was your silence
your legacys tombstone
teaching all that was never learned

Unsorted Color

I often wonder how it is that anyone can know fully
who you are
so I ask for a dim reflection
parting my lips
with you by my side I think aloud
how great a thing is it
to be granted true love
to be given a sour Demerara crop for a lifetime

Passage

I left my sleeve in New Orleans
no one bothered to pick it up
with my worn sandles and my heavy backpack
people just stare
my sleeve still in New Orleans
no tag
no identifying mark
I shouldve stitched my middle name on the innards
motivating one to foward it to my block
I shouldve asked advice before i packed my red sack
full of junk
now I arrived at what i thought was the end
no sleeve and a bag full of rut
I shouldve known this wouldnt last
but i had to come back
you led me here sleeveless
familiar glances being tossed my way
back to New Orleans I go
but this time ill arrive with your sleeve
and a pot full of luck
